On Sunday 13th November our members took part in the Remembrance Day trophy, unique in the club sporting diary as all the proceeds go to the Royal British Legion poppy appeal.
There is always a lot of emotion on such days as people come together to remember and show gratitude, so the day was made even more special when Ian Kemp hit a hole-in-one on the 14th, the same hole his late father Kenny, holed in one.
We like to think Ian made the shot thanks to his golfing prowess, but also like to think that it was willed in a little by Kenny too. Certainly, a day for Ian to remember forever more.
The winner was Tony Cotton with 42 points and the other winner was the incredible Poppy Appeal to who we were able to donate ÂŁ200 too.
