Lucas Badge and Lindsay Cup Champions Crowned
Golfers gathered on Sunday 8th September out on the links to battle for the coveted Lucas Badge for the champion golfer of the year and the Lindsay Cup for the handicap champion.
The championship was played over a gruelling 36-hole format, challenging participants with the course's quirky layout and tricky weather conditions.
As the wind blew fiercely from the south, players faced the white tee championship course, testing their skill and stamina throughout the day. The morning's 18-hole round also featured the Bateman Plate for handicappers, providing yet another opportunity for competition.
In the end, Steve Smith took home the Bateman Plate with an impressive net score of 67. Kieran Smith clinched the Lindsay Cup as the handicap champion with a net 138, showcasing great resilience in the wind.
The Lucas Badge, the grand prize of the day, was secured by George Waites, who dominated the field with a gross score of 144 over 36 holes. Waites also captured the afternoon scratch with a solid 71, capping off a stellar performance.
In the afternoon's handicap round, Alex Fellas emerged victorious with a net score of 66. Congratulations to all the winners and heartfelt thanks to all the officials and participants who made this event possible.
